The 2024 edition of the THE WUR, published in September 2023 on the occasion of the Rankings’ 20th anniversary, updated their methodology by incorporating a range of new indicators and adjusting the definition or weight of existing ones. With these changes, the WUR have gone from 13 to 17 indicators—18 considering the Studying Abroad indicator, which was not used in the calculations for this year. These indicators are still divided into five pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry and International Outlook.
There are two significantly weighted indicators based on teaching and research reputation surveys of a wide sample of academic experts.
In the 2025 edition, the UPC rankgs in the 601-800 band in the overall ranking.
